The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter to join our team and support our personal lines team through high-quality underwriting service and sound risk decision-making.
In this role, you will take ownership of underwriting decisions, build strong relationships with customers, and contribute to profitable growth while delivering a consistent and professional experience. What You’ll Do
Service Delivery
Deliver superior underwriting service and quality commitments in a “One Stop Shop” environment.
Provide timely, informed, and consistent service to customers.
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with customers through clear and fair communication.
Underwriting Excellence
Take ownership of underwriting decisions while balancing risk, customer needs, and business objectives.
Apply analytical thinking and confident judgment to support profitable underwriting growth.
Continuously challenge the status quo to enhance service quality and customer experience.
Professional Development & Collaboration
Maintain and grow technical and soft skills through e-learning and ongoing development.
Work toward or maintain CIP, FCIP, or other relevant insurance accreditations.
Collaborate effectively with underwriting teams and other business units to deliver seamless service.
Demonstrate high integrity and professionalism when representing Munn Insurance with colleagues, and leadership.
About You – Our Ideal Candidate
You are a service-driven underwriting professional who values relationships, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 4 years of Personal Lines insurance experience
· CIP designation or actively working toward CIP or other recognized insurance industry accreditations
· Strong negotiation, analytical, and confident decision-making skills
· Demonstrated leadership capabilities and professionalism
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
· Ability to drive the business by thinking strategically, championing the brand, and making effective decisions
· Ability to know the customer by building trust and strengthening operational relationships
· Ability to win with people by communicating with impact and developing skills and knowledge in others
· Ability to execute with excellence by fostering collaboration between underwriting and other business units
· Demonstrated will to win, including setting a clear vision, embracing change, influencing others, and reducing ambiguity
· Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (combination of remote and in-office work)
